The IB Middle Years Programme (IBMYP) is a challenging framework designed by the International Baccalaureate Organization for students aged 11 to 16. Building upon the foundational objectives of the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the MYP emphasizes the IB Learner Profile and Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills.
The curriculum is engineered to bridge classroom learning with the real world through Global Contexts. It fosters academic rigor and personal growth across eight key subject groups:
- Language and Literature: Developing analytical and creative communication skills in the student's best language.
- Language Acquisition: Building proficiency in a second language to foster intercultural understanding.
- Individuals and Societies: Exploring humanities, including history, economics, and geography.
- Mathematics: Mastering logical reasoning and problem-solving through algebraic and geometric inquiry.
- Design: Engaging in the "Design Cycle" to solve practical problems using digital or product design.
- Arts: Cultivating aesthetic and creative expression through visual and performing arts.
- Sciences: Investigating the physical and biological world through evidence-based research.
- Physical and Health Education: Promoting physical fitness and a holistic understanding of well-being.
