Elevating Academic Profiles for Global Admissions
The Advanced Placement (AP) program, developed by the College Board, offers university-level curricula to ambitious high school students. At AEI, we empower students to embrace these academic challenges, allowing them to earn college credit and demonstrate mastery in a diverse range of subjects, from Calculus and Physics to English Literature and Data Science.

The AEI Advantage: Proven Results Since 2008
Since 2008, AEI has maintained a distinguished reputation for elite AP examination preparation. Our methodology prioritizes exam technique, critical thinking, and rigorous practice to ensure students approach every question with confidence.
The Mock Exam Sessions
From late March through early April, students enter our intensive Mock Exam Sessions. This phase includes:
- Full-Length Mocks: Proctored exams that mirror the timing and pressure of the official test day.
- Performance Analytics: Detailed review of mock results to identify and fortify conceptual gaps.
- Strategic Revision: Targeted study sessions focused on maximizing point gains in both Multiple Choice and Free Response sections.
STEM & Mathematics
AP Biology This course explores biological systems from the molecular level to entire ecosystems. Students engage in rigorous laboratory exercises and intensive theoretical study to develop a profound understanding of life sciences.
AP Calculus AB & BC Focusing on limits, derivatives, integrals, and differential equations, these courses require a robust mathematical foundation. We provide the conceptual depth necessary to master the complexities of advanced calculus.
AP Chemistry Covering atomic theory, chemical bonding, and thermodynamics, our Chemistry program is a hallmark of AEI’s success. Since 2019, 100% of our AP Chemistry students have consistently achieved a perfect score of 5.
AP Computer Science A Students master the fundamental concepts of Java programming, including algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented design. A strong analytical background is recommended for success in this track.
AP Computer Science Principles This course focuses on computational thinking and creative program development. Students explore programming languages, data visualization, and the global social impact of modern computing.
AP Physics 1 & 2 AP Physics 1 centers on classical mechanics, kinematics, and momentum. AP Physics 2 advances into electricity, magnetism, and quantum mechanics. Both courses emphasize laboratory-based inquiry and mathematical rigor.
AP Physics C (Mechanics & Electricity/Magnetism) Widely regarded as the most challenging AP offering, Physics C provides a calculus-based foundation for classical mechanics and electromagnetism. It is specifically designed for students aspiring to major in engineering or physics at top-tier universities.
AP Precalculus This course establishes the essential mathematical techniques—including functions, trigonometry, and logarithms—required for success in higher-level calculus and university-level mathematics.
AP Statistics This course empowers students to collect, analyze, and interpret complex data sets. Key topics include probability distributions, hypothesis testing, and regression analysis.
English & Humanities
AP English Language and Composition in Grade 12, Students learn to analyze and synthesize a variety of nonfiction texts. We focus on elevating writing skills through intensive rhetorical analysis and sophisticated argumentation.
AP English Literature and Composition This course centers on the critical analysis of poetry, drama, and prose. Students refine their academic writing through a deep exploration of literary works across various eras.
AP Psychology Exploring the fundamental pillars of psychology—including behavior, cognition, and social interaction—this course utilizes case studies and classroom instruction to demystify the human mind.
History & Social Sciences
AP Macroeconomics & Microeconomics Macroeconomics focuses on large-scale economic principles like inflation and growth, while Microeconomics explores market structures and consumer behavior. Both are essential for future business and economics majors.
AP U.S. History A comprehensive study of American history from pre-Columbian eras to the present day. Students develop critical thinking skills by analyzing political, social, and economic shifts over time.
AP World History: Modern Covering global history from 1200 CE to the present, this course encourages students to understand the interconnectedness of world civilizations and the evolution of global political structures.
AP European History From the Renaissance to the contemporary era, this course examines the cultural, political, and economic developments that have shaped modern Europe.
Why Take APs at AEI?
In Taiwan, students most frequently target AP Math and Science disciplines. Because elite global universities often recommend a curriculum of 6 to 8 AP courses, AEI provides the strategic roadmap and expert faculty needed to turn academic potential into a transcript of perfect 5s.
Understanding AP Scoring
Each AP exam is evaluated on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest possible achievement. Scores are determined by a panel of college faculty and expert AP educators known as AP Readers.
- The Gold Standard: A score of 4 or 5 is considered highly competitive.
- Elite Admissions: For students targeting Ivy League or top-tier global universities, we recommend completing a rigorous curriculum of at least 6 to 8 AP courses to demonstrate academic stamina and intellectual curiosity.
